Dựa trên lý thuyết tương thích bản thân (self-congruity theory), nghiên cứu này phân tích tác động của 5 đặc điểm tính cách (Big-Five) đến sự gắn kết bản thân - thương hiệu (SBC) và lòng trung thành thương hiệu xanh (GBL) trong sáng kiến bù đắp carbon tự nguyện của Grab tại Việt Nam. Nghiên cứu tiếp cận Grab như một thương hiệu dịch vụ thực hiện sáng kiến môi trường. Dữ liệu khảo sát từ 309 người dùng Grab được phân tích bằng mô hình PLS-SEM trên phần mềm WarpPLS. Kết quả cho thấy, hướng ngoại, dễ chịu và cởi mở có mối quan hệ tích cực với SBC; tính loạn thần kinh tác động tiêu cực; trong khi sự tận tâm không có ý nghĩa thống kê. Đồng thời, sự gắn kết bản thân – thương hiệu là yếu tố dự báo mạnh mẽ của lòng trung thành thương hiệu xanh. Nghiên cứu mở rộng hiểu biết về hành vi tiêu dùng xanh theo tính cách và đề xuất hàm ý cho tiếp thị môi trường cá nhân hóa.
