Abstract
The Design and Construction (D-C or also called turnkey) project delivery method is one of the most popular delivering strategies in almost large and complex construction projects because of its undeniable advantages of reduction not only in project cost, project time for the client, but also in stakeholders’ conflicts, and especially because of its striking features of risk transference from client to head contractor through the contract. In fact, greater risks often occur in the construction delivery of the project more than those being compiled in the project documents. The appearances of the risk may cause the delay of the project in meeting its objectives especially for cost objective. To help project managers dealing with this project delaying pattern, this study aims to identify key risk factors affected to the cost objective, then analyses and evaluate these risks by a comprehensive assessment of their likelihood and consequences. This research will usefully contribute to the effective risk management in the D-C projects which have been more emerging in construction industry in Vietnam recently
