Abstract
Rotating machines are simple models including motor, shaft and bearings. The modeling of rotating machines using finite element method to evaluate the dynamic characteristics such as natural frequency, mode shapes, stiffness and damping coefficients and shaft’s static deflection… is quite important and must be paid attention to during the design and fabrication of any rotating machine. In this paper, authors propose a mathematical model for a simple rotating machine to identify the dynamic characteristics based on the finite element method..Matlab is used for the simulation. Results of natural frequencies, mode shapes as well as shaft’s static deflection are discussed and presented here
