Research on simulating fluidized bed dynamics during fast pyrolysis of biomass

Abstract

Research on dynamics of multiphase flows in fluidised bed reactor is the foundation for calculating and designing equipment of biofuel production system by biomass pyrolysis technology. By combining the equations of multi-phase flow with simulation software, the authors has simulated the dynamics parameters in fluidised bed reactor. The Eulerian approach is applied during the process of simulations. Simulation results include the determination of pressure drop, gas velocity, volume fraction of the phases in the pyrolysis reactor with a capacity of 800 g/h. These data are applied as the basis for the calculation and design of pyrolysis reactor by fluidised bed technology, laying foundation for the research and application of energy from biomass for biofuel production
