Abstract
Conversion coating containing Zr and Ti has been applied on iron surface by dipping it in TiF62- 0.01M and ZrF62- 0.02M solution, pH=4. The conversion layer can improve the corrosion ability of organic coating. Polarisation method is applied to determine the corrosion potential and currrent of coating with and without conversion layer. Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) is used to measure the impedance of coating in 3% KCl solution.Delamination of epoxy coating is studied by dipping it in KCl solution. Thanks to the conversion layer, epoxy layer adheres well on iron. Resistance of coating has changed slowly during the immersion time.
