Vietnamese literature in the postwar era (1975- 1985) is a special stage-the continuation phase in many ways and many innovative features based on both new perceptions and new inspiration to create signs of significant changes of the literature. Image of the soldier remains the central figure of literary portraits, but this image was different from that in the previous period. Prose in postwar approached the soldier character as a personality structure to explore the lively nature and their authenticity. Looking through the war in both directions, in the dark and in the light, in the victory, the hardship, and sacrifice, prose in the period of 1975-1985 helps the reader to look further into two wars of our nation. New awareness of the war helps us to understand more about the past, to cherish the present and think about the future, about the responsibility of each individual to the country and nation.
