Abstract
The synthesis of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is carried out by the chemical vapor deposition method (CVD) on the Fe/γ-Al2O3 catalyst surface with the LPG concentration, flow velocity and temperature of 31%, 3.2 cm/min and 710 oC, respectively. Under these conditions, the characterizations by SEM, TEM show that the obtained CNTs have high stability in the absence of amorphous carbon and out diameter of 16.5 nm. The surface area of BET is 190 m2/g. The gasoline and oil absorption capacity are 8÷10 times compared with the mass of CNTs. The absorption capacity of CNTs depends on the total hardness and salinity of water. The results show that the gasoline and oil absorption capacity of CNTs from seawater and river water is from 5.5 to 7 times.
