Abstract
In Clausena lansium (Lour.) Skeels peel there is about 0.4-0.5% of oil;the major components of the oil are β-pinene, terpinolene, α-humulene, α-terpineol... The purpose of this study is to determine biological activity and usability of Clausena lansium (Lour.) Skeels peel oil. Experiments are conducted with the following formula 4: CT-ĐC: 0% the oil, CT-A: 1% the oil, CT-B: 2% the oil and CT-C: 3% the oil. Antibacterial ability is identified for strains of Escherichia coli with minimum inhibitory concentration of Clausena lansium (Lour.) Skeels peel oil of 128µg/ml. Strains such as Salmonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus have minimum inhibitory concentration of Clausena lansium (Lour.) Skeels peel oil of 256µg/ml. The ability of free radical scavenger of Clausena lansium (Lour.) Skeels peel oil is determined with IC50= 6.15 ± 0.01μg/ml. The ability to preserve pork meat of Clausena lansium (Lour.) Skeels peel oil is rated with the used concentration of 2%; the storage time is 4 days at a temperature of 15°C.
