Abstract
This study investigates the impact of capital structure on firm\'s performance using a panel data sample of 68 Vietnamese manufacturing and processing businesses listed on Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) during the period 2009-2013 and the impact of capital structure on both firm’s accounting performance (ROE, ROA) and market performance measures (Tobin\'s Q). The results show that firm capital structure has a significantly negative effect on firm\'s performance. On the other hand, it is pointed out that firm growth opportunities are positively related to ROE, ROA but negatively related to Tobin\'s Q. Firm size is found to have a positive and significant impact on market performance measures.
