The influence of KCl fertilizer on some biochemical norms, productivity and quality of DX 208 mungbean grown in Gialai province

Abstract

Mungbean ((Vigna radiata (L.)Wilczek) is a food crop that contains many nutrient constituents and essential mineral elements for human body in daily diet. In recent years, mungbean has been grown extensively in Central and Highland provinces; nevertheless,the productivity is at low levels. One of the reasons is unsuitable cultivation technical measures, especially the use of potassium fertilizers. Consequently, we supply KCl fertilizers at different levels from 40, 60, 80 to 100 kg K2O / ha-1 for mungbean DX 208 planted in bazan red soil in Pleiku town, Gialai province. The research results show that the supply of KCl at levels of 80 kg and 100 kg K2O / ha-1 for DX 208 mungbean increases the total chlorophyll and nitrogen contents, productivity and quality compared with the control levels of 40 and 60 kg KCl. To compare with control level of 60kg K2O / ha-1,the use of KCl at levels of 80 và 100 kg K2O/ ha-1 increases the number of full fruits of mungbean from 19,78% - 31,20%; the net productivity is also higher from 6,15% - 18,97%. In addition, protein, lipid contents in seed of mungbean is also remarkably elevated. Treated at level of 80 kg K2O ha-1l mungbean has the largest protein content.
