Preservation and development of The traditional culture of Cotu people in Hoa Vang District, Da nang city: Challenges in the context of urbanization

Abstract

Co Tu minority in Danang is a branch on the path of ethnic segregation of Co Tu people in Quang Nam province. In urbanization, they are increasingly gaining access to emerging urban facilities. But, because of the Cơ Tu communities in Hoa Vang mountainous district, Da Nang province is still on a low livelihood base compared with the average in Vietnam and perturbation is likely to occur in the traditional culture of Co Tu people. Fast rate of urbanization and modernization of life is exaggerating the cultural perturbations. So, how do Co Tu people in Hoa Vang district, Danang province maintain their traditional cultural values while they are being increasingly integrated into the urbanization, and social and economic development of the region? This article answers this question.
