Study on selecting coal combustion technologies for Quang Trach I thermal power plant

Abstract

Supercritical and Ultra supercritical technologies have been considered as advanced technologies in thermal power plants due to their improving efficiency of whole power plant and reducing fuel consumption and emissions to the environment. However, raising the parameters will increase the initial investment costs. This paper analyzes, evaluates and selects optimal steam parameters as well as suitable combustion technologies for large coal-fired power plants (> 300 MW) in Vietnam. The analysis of options is based on the basis of research, evaluation of the initial capital costs, experience of construction and operation, maintenance and repair as well as equipment supply market in order to select the suitable technologies for Thermal power plants in Vietnam. This article has selected suitable technology for Quang Trach 1 power plant.
