MAISYS - Multilingual Automated Interpretation System for the Museum of Danang

Abstract

In this paper, we present the results of the study and the implementation of a multilingual automated interpretation system for Danang Museum. To build this system, we propose using QR Code for an artifact identifier. Each artifact will have corresponding information in the forms of text, audio and video in Vietnamese, English and French. Visitors will use the mobile device to capture QR Codes to view or listen to related information. The system includes explanatory data for 9 thematic rooms, 600 artifacts and the software packages on the server and on the mobile device. The main contribution of the research is to propose and test the application of information technology in practice based on new technologies (QR Code and Mobile). Based on this research, we can use new technologies for other applications in practice.
