Investigation into the artistic value of Indochine architecture

Abstract

Indochinese architectural style was developed and popular in Vietnam in the French colonial period. This Style is a harmonious combination of technical standards and decoration style of French architecture and techniques of traditional Vietnamese architecture. By creating a unique combined style, French architects left Vietnam the special architectural heritage of high use value. This paper will systematically present the process of formation and development of the Indochinese architectural style in Vietnam. Besides the paper will give evidence to clarify the outstanding advantage of this architectural style and why it is preferred and left the people of Vietnam the architectural heritages of high historical and cultural value.
