Abstract
Theory of personality characteristics of Holland or RIASEC model is used popularly in the world in career choice. This article analyses the intention of choosing majors of grade 12 students in Thua Thien Hue Province according RIASEC model. The information is collected by questionnaires including gender, majors that students will choose and set of RIASEC multiple choice according to Likert scale of 5 levels. Testing result shows that set of RIASEC multiple choice is chosen well with n = 619. There are 23.4% of students choosing majors that do not match their personality characteristics. By gender, this rate is 25.8% for males and 22.3% for females. There is high correlation between the number of students who choose majors and the number of choices of unsuitable majors. However, there is no difference in gender in the number of unsuitable major choices when rate is compared. Choosing majors that match their personality characteristics is not the concern of many grade 12 students.
