Abstract
When supplying HHO through the port injection method, the maximum concentration of H2 remaining in the intake manifold depends on the injection pressure and the HHO/air ratio. If the maximum concentration of H2 remaining in the intake path is limited to 1%, the HHO/air ratios must not exceed 4.75%, 4.5%, and 4% for injection pressures of 3000Pa, 1000Pa, and 500Pa, respectively. For HHO/air ratios lower than 4%, when the HHO injection pressure varies from 500Pa to 4000Pa, the average equivalence ratio of the mixture remaining in the intake manifold is about 0.003, and the average H2 concentration is about 0.03%. At an engine speed of 7500 rpm, to maintain an equivalence ratio of the mixture at f=1,
the gasoline injection angle is 80°CA, 78°CA, and 75°CA, corresponding to HHO/air ratios of 3.5%, 4.5%, and 5.7%, respectively.
