Abstract
Switched reluctance motor (SRM) has many advantages but its applications are limited by the noise. One of the causes of this noise is the torque ripple which is caused not only by the structure of the motor but also by the harmonic current. The current has high harmonic component that greatly affects torque and loss in the motor. Therefore, in this article the influence of harmonic current in the switched reluctance motor will be analyzed and evaluated. At the same time, a new solution using amorphous materials will be discussed to decrease the torque ripple and reduce the loss. The initial results show that the loss is significantly reduced and the torque ripple is limited.
