Abstract
The Russia-Ukraine conflict has brought serious challenges to the core principles of the contemporary international legal system and the world order it creates. Some countries have taken advantages of the crisis to pursue geostrategic interests, promote “factions” in international relations, replace dialogue and cooperation with confrontation. The article's main goal is to make clear how the war between Russia and Ukraine has affected the global situation. From the results of that research, the authors propose implications for Vietnam's foreign policy. The author conducts the research using two basic methods: history and logical. Among these methods, the historical one will help to reconstruct the picture of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in the most objective way. At the same time, the logical technique will assist the authors in drawing appropriate assessments on the aforementioned issue, thereby proposing policy implications for Vietnam.
