Abstract
The treatment of solid waste through Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) offers an appropriate solution to resource recovery, enhancing energy conversion efficiency, and mitigating environmental pollution emissions. Simulation of RDF combustion processes in the atmosphere provides crucial insights for modeling syngas generation in gasifiers. As the excess air coefficient (ER) increases, the maximum flame temperature also rises, reaching peaks of 1110K, 1154K, 1227K, and 1338K at ER values of 0.3; 0.45; 0.65 and 0.95, respectively. Conversely, a decrease in ER leads to elevated concentrations of CO, CH4, and H2, resulting in an augmented syngas heat value (Qsyn). At ER=0.32, the Qsyn values obtained from combustion of RDF-Rice Husk, RDF-Solid Waste, and RDF-Wood Chips are 5.3; 5.5 and 5.9 MJ/kg, respectively.
