Diversity of plants in Hoang Hoa coast district, Thanh Hoa province

Abstract

In this paper we present some initial results of research on plants in the coastal sand areas in Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province from 2017 to 2018. Totally 161 species belonging to 60 genera and 2 families of Polypodiophyta and Magnoliophyta were collected and identified. The Poaaceae is the richest genus and species (15 genera and 18 species); there are 26 families with only one genus and species. Among useful plant species of the Hoang Hoa flora, the number of medicinal plants is 103, occupying 63.98 %. The Spectrum of Biology (SB) of the flora in Hoang Hoa is summarized as follows: SB = 37.89 Ph + 0 Ch + 30.43 Hm + 0.62 Cr + 31.06 Th. The plant species in Hoang Hoa mainly comprise the tropical elements with 80.14%, the endemic elements with 9.94%.
The species are mainly on coastal sand areas, subject to sea wind and waves with 118 species identified, making up 73.29%. The number of species on sand soil areas with natural and regular coastal mangrove thin mud layer is the least with 13, occupying 8.07%.
