Organizing the thermal engineering module exam in the form of objective test and assessing the achievement of Course Learning Outcomes (CLO) for the module classes

Abstract

The database of objective multiple-choice questions for the Thermal Engineering module was developed and piloted in 2012, and subsequently implemented widely across The University of Danang - University of Science and Technology from 2014 to the present. After more than 10 years of use, the database requires updating. Furthermore, new regulations from the Ministry of Education and Training, as well as the 4.0 version of AUN-QA accreditation standards, mandate that educational programs must evaluate the attainment of program learning outcomes. This has made the evaluation of course learning outcomes for modules in general, and the Thermal Engineering module in particular, an urgent necessity. This paper presents the update of the objective test item bank for the Thermal Engineering module, the development of exam tools, the pilot application to several module classes, and the objective assessment of learning outcome attainment for these classes.
