Nghiên cứu này xây dựng một mô hình nhằm khám phá mối quan hệ giữa nhận thức sự trao quyền (PE), sự gắn kết cảm xúc (ES), chất lượng cuộc sống (QOL), hỗ trợ phát triển du lịch bền vững (SSTD). Nghiên cứu kiểm tra vai trò trung gian của QOL và vai trò điểu tiết của sự phụ thuộc vào du lịch (TD) trong mối quan hệ giữa PE, ES, QOL và SSTD. Dữ liệu được thu thập thông qua khảo sát trực tiếp bằng bảng hỏi giấy từ cư dân tại Đà Nẵng. Tổng cộng 593 bảng hỏi hợp lệ được sử dụng để phân tích và kiểm định mô hình và giả thuyết thông qua PLS-SEM. Kết quả nghiên cứu chỉ ra rằng (i) các nhân tố tác động đến QOL bao gồm trao quyền tâm lý, trao quyền xã hội, trao quyền kinh tế, sự gần gũi về cảm xúc, sự thấu hiểu, (ii) trao quyền chính trị, trao quyền môi trường, sự gần gũi về cảm xúc, sự thấu hiểu, QOL ảnh hưởng đến SSTD. Trên cơ sở đó, nghiên cứu đưa ra những hàm ý lý thuyết và khuyến nghị chính sách phù hợp.
