Du lịch cộng đồng (DLCĐ) có thể hiểu là một cách tiếp cận trong phát triển du lịch mà nhấn mạnh đến sự tham gia chủ động, tích cực của cộng đồng vào quá trình phát triển du lịch. Cách tiếp cận phát triển du lịch này rất có ý nghĩa xét trên khía cạnh phát triển bền vững ở các điểm đến có cộng đồng dân cư có mức thu nhập hạn chế như Điện Phương-một xã thuộc huyện Điện Bàn, tỉnh Quảng Nam. Bài viết này nhằm tổng hợp các phương thức phát triển DLCĐ dựa trên sức hấp dẫn cốt lõi của điểm đến. Thông qua việc nghiên cứu các trường hợp phát triển DLCĐ điển hình trên toàn thế giới, bài báo đã tổng hợp được 5 phương thức phát triển DLCĐ dựa trên sức hấp dẫn cốt lõi của điểm đến. Kết hợp với kết quả khảo sát thực địa tài nguyên du lịch của Điện Phương, bài báo còn nhằm xác định phương thức phát triển DLCĐ có thể triển khai tại địa phương này.
