Abstract
Synchronization is an important operation step that is required for the grid-connected wind power generators. The requirement of this process is not to cause a large transient current that affects the generator as well as the normal operation of the power grid. This paper presents the research on control diagram of a wind power system and analysis of the synchronization method of the doubly-fed induction generator into the power grid with a control circuit using rotor virtual resistors. The diagram is designed to generate an appropriate rotor voltage to excite the generator to restrain the stator transient current during the synchronization operation. After that, the generator is put to operate in the speed control mode. Simulation results show that this is a simple method with observed transient currents having small amplitude and can be adjusted according to the value of the resistance.
