Abstract
The focus of this study is on analyzing the dynamic response and dynamic impact factor (DIF) of a simple girder bridge under vehicular live loads with randomly varying loads. The load data were collected from the Road Management Area IV, with a particular emphasis on overloaded vehicles. The bridge selected for analysis is the Song Quy bridge, located on the highway connecting Phan Thiet - Dau Giay. The analysis results indicate that, the probability distribution of the random DIF is highly complex, and there is no correlation between the probability distribution of vehicular loads and DIF. The DIF in the region of overloaded traffic increases, exceeding the limits prescribed by both the AASHTO and TCVN 11823-2017. The simultaneous increase in DIF and vehicular load poses significant risks to the bridge structure during its operational phase, accelerating the degradation of the bridge's load-bearing capacity.
