Hoạt động gìn giữ hòa bình (GGHB) Liên Hợp Quốc (LHQ) là cơ chế quan trọng nhằm duy trì hòa bình và an ninh quốc tế. Việt Nam chính thức tham gia GGHB từ năm 2014, đánh dấu bước tiến mới trong hội nhập quốc tế về an ninh - quốc phòng. Quá trình này mang lại nhiều kết quả tích cực, đặc biệt trong triển khai lực lượng; đào tạo, huấn luyện và thúc đẩy bình đẳng giới. Tuy nhiên, Việt Nam vẫn đối mặt với nhiều thách thức như tiêu chuẩn cao của LHQ; hạn chế về nguồn lực, cơ chế phối hợp; và các rủi ro an ninh thực địa. Thực tiễn đó đòi hỏi phải tiếp tục hoàn thiện thể chế, nâng cao chất lượng nguồn nhân lực, đẩy mạnh hợp tác quốc tế và chủ động thích ứng với môi trường phái bộ. Điều này sẽ góp phần hiện thực hóa định hướng tham gia sâu rộng và thực chất hơn trong hoạt động GGHB LHQ của Việt Nam, qua đó khẳng định vai trò của một thành viên chủ động, tích cực và có trách nhiệm trong các cơ chế an ninh đa phương.
