Là một quốc gia thuộc không gian hậu Xô – viết, Ukraine cũng như các quốc gia ở khu vực Trung và Đông Âu chịu ảnh hưởng sâu sắc từ chính sách của các nước lớn trong cạnh tranh địa chiến lược sau Chiến tranh lạnh. Điều này được phản ánh rõ nét trong cuộc khủng hoảng Ukraine, mà đỉnh điểm là xung đột quân sự Nga – Ukraine bùng phát ngày 24/02/2022, chịu tác động của những tính toán chiến lược của Nga và Mỹ. Trên cơ sở khái quát chính sách Ukraine của các chính quyền Mỹ kể từ khi Ukraine tách ra khỏi Liên bang Xô – viết trở thành một nước độc lập tới năm 2020, bài viết tập trung làm rõ cơ sở hoạch định, mục tiêu và thực tiễn triển khai chính sách Ukraine của chính quyền Tổng thống Joe Biden giai đoạn 2021 – 2024 trong bối cảnh xung đột quân sự Nga – Ukraine. Từ đó, bài viết đánh giá kết quả triển khai và đưa ra một số dự báo về chiều hướng chính sách Ukraine của Mỹ trong thời gian tới.
