Research on restoration of 270 liter rubber mixing chamber by PTA arc method

Abstract

Over time, the mixing machine is used, the surface of the mixing shaft and the inside of the rubber mixing chamber is often cracked, worn, peeled, pock-marked,… not meeting the technical requirements, causing waste of semi-finished rubber. This is an issue that cannot be repaired by domestic manufacturers at present, so every time the mixing chamber is damaged, it must be replaced, which increases the cost of the product. In order to save production costs and ensure rubber quality, it is necessary to restore the old mixing chamber. In this paper, authors do research the measures to restore the working surface of the mixing chamber and the mixing shaft of the 270 liter rubber mixing machine. From the surface restoration measures, this paper has experimented with restoring the surface of the mixing chamber and mixing shaft of a 270-liter rubber mixing machine by arc welding technology using plasma transferred arc (PTA).
